Aptos (APT) Price & How to Buy APT: A Complete Guide

Written by F, Fairy.fLast updated:

Aptos (APT) has attracted attention as a Layer 1 blockchain focused on scalability, fast transactions, and Web3 applications. As APT trades near its recent lows, traders may be watching its price closely and looking for ways to buy or trade the token.

But buying APT and trading its price are not the same thing. Before deciding how to trade, it helps to understand what Aptos is, what APT is used for, and how spot trading differs from APTUSDT perpetual futures. This guide covers what Aptos is, APT price performance, how to buy APT, and how to trade APT on BTCC.

What Is Aptos (APT)?

Aptos is a Layer 1 blockchain designed to support fast and scalable transactions and decentralized applications. It uses the Move programming language and a parallel execution model to process transactions more efficiently.

APT is the native token of the Aptos network. It is mainly used to pay transaction fees, participate in staking, and support network governance. Users can also hold APT in compatible wallets and use it within applications built on the Aptos network.

Aptos was developed by former members of Meta’s Diem blockchain project. The network launched its mainnet in October 2022 and has since expanded its ecosystem across DeFi, stablecoins, gaming, and other Web3 applications.

For traders, it is also important to distinguish between owning APT and trading APT’s price. Buying APT through spot trading gives you the actual token. APTUSDT perpetual futures, by contrast, let you trade price movements without owning APT directly.

APT Price Performance

APT is currently trading at approximately $0.5811 based on BTCC Price. At the same time, CoinGecko showed around $0.5824, and total 24-hour market volume was approximately $27.63 million. The price range on BTCC over the last 24 hours was $0.5709–$0.5830. On August 1, APT dropped to $0.5459, recording an all-time low.

APT

Even though the trade involves APT, the asset you end up with is different. Buying on a BTCC spot market gives you actual APT. In APTUSDT perpetual futures, however, you don’t buy the real coin; your profit or loss from APT price moves is simply settled in USDT. That’s why anyone who needs coins for a wallet and anyone who only wants USDT profit/loss should start with different trading methods.APTUSDT--Price--24h ChangeTrade

Price Levels to Watch in Recent Market Moves

In recent price action, $0.545–$0.570 is the zone to watch as the short-term lower bound. If APT falls back below $0.545, check whether a new low forms after failing to hold the previous range. If it breaks above $0.583 and keeps trading above $0.60, that could signal that the recent downtrend is calming.

That said, a brief push above $0.60 isn’t enough to confirm a recovery. If volume doesn’t follow, price can be pushed back down, and supply movement around the August 12 unlock is also a variable.

If You Need Actual APT, Buy APT on the Spot Market

If you want to own actual APT, use a spot market rather than perpetual futures. You can buy APT directly with a supported payment method or trading asset such as USDT.

You can choose between a market order and a limit order. A market order executes at the best available price and is useful when you want to buy APT quickly. A limit order lets you set the maximum price you’re willing to pay. It only executes if the market reaches your target price.

Once the order is filled, your APT will appear in your spot balance. You can keep it on the exchange or transfer it to a personal wallet. Before withdrawing, check that your wallet supports the Aptos network and that the withdrawal network matches the network supported by your wallet. Also check the minimum withdrawal amount and fee. For a new wallet address, consider sending a small test amount first.

When buying APT, also consider the total cost. Depending on how you fund your account, you may pay trading fees, payment or deposit fees, and a withdrawal fee if you move APT to a personal wallet. These costs can affect your actual purchase price, so don’t compare exchanges based only on the quoted APT price.

How to Trade APT Spot and Futures on BTCC

To buy on BTCC spot, move USDT to your spot account and search for APT/USDT. Once the order is filled, the APT amount appears in your spot assets. If you plan to send the purchased APT to a personal wallet, check the BTCC withdrawal screen before placing the order. Confirm that the APT withdrawal menu is available, which network it supports, and whether withdrawals are currently open. Even if spot trading works, external wallet withdrawals may not always be supported.

If you only want to trade APT price movements, move your USDT to the futures account and search for APTUSDT. If you expect higher prices, go long; if you expect lower prices, go short. Higher leverage lets you control a larger position with less margin, but it also puts the liquidation price closer to your entry. In isolated mode, losses are limited to the margin allocated to that position; in cross mode, other balances in your futures account can also be used as margin.

Even if an APTUSDT long position earns a profit, you don’t actually own APT. When you close the position, the gain or loss is reflected in your USDT balance. Entry and exit fees, plus funding fees, may also apply.APTUSDT--Price--24h ChangeTrade

APT Price Must Be Read Alongside Unlock Supply and New Supply Growth

According to CoinGecko’s unlock schedule, roughly 11.31 million APT is scheduled for release on August 12, 2026. The unlocked supply includes about 3.96 million APT from core contributors, 3.21 million from the community, 2.81 million from investors, and 1.33 million from the foundation. Not all unlocked tokens will hit the market immediately, so watch how much moves to exchanges afterward and how much is actually sold.

Aptos’s official supply dashboard shows a maximum supply of 2.1 billion APT and total supply of approximately 1.2 billion APT. As of August 5, monthly staking issuance is around 1.6 million APT, the last 30-day burn was 177,411 APT, and net supply growth is roughly 1.5 million APT per month. Even with high transaction counts, burn volume can stay limited when average fees are low.

What Was Aptos Created For?

Aptos is a layer-1 project that uses the Move language and a parallel execution structure to process transactions and applications. APT is used for transaction fees, staking, and governance. In May 2026, Aptos Foundation and Aptos Labs announced plans to invest over $50 million in trading and AI products, research, and infrastructure. Decibel, a perpetual futures exchange built on Aptos, is also live on mainnet.

According to DefiLlama, Aptos’s DeFi TVL is about $61.6 million, and its stablecoin market cap is roughly $1.159 billion. Around 47,486 addresses were active in a single day, and about 16.25 million transactions were processed. Still, more users and transactions don’t automatically push the APT price higher. To gauge the actual price impact, also check how much APT is burned through fees and how much more is locked in staking.

Decide First: Hold APT or Trade Only Its Price

If APT drops below $0.545, check whether it makes a new low below the recent bottom. Between $0.545 and $0.60, watch how much unlocked supply reaches the market and whether trading volume recovers. If APT then stays above $0.60 and both market volume and network usage increase, the recent weakness may be easing.

If you plan to move APT to a wallet or use it on the network, choose spot. If you only want to trade price direction, BTCC futures work, but liquidation price and funding fees matter. After the trade, check whether you’re left with actual APT or only USDT profit/loss.

FAQs

As of August 5, 2026, BTCC supported both APT/USDT spot trading and APTUSDT perpetual futures. Trading support can change, so check the trading pairs available in the search bar before placing an order.
No. Futures trading opens a position that tracks the price of APT, with profits and losses settled in USDT. If you want APT to send to a wallet, you need to buy APT separately on the spot market.
If you want to trade APT/USDT spot or APTUSDT futures, you can deposit USDT first. Then transfer it to your spot or futures account and search for APT.
Only transfer APT after confirming that APT withdrawals are available on the withdrawal page. Check the supported Aptos network, minimum withdrawal amount, and current withdrawal status. Spot trading support alone does not guarantee that external wallet withdrawals are available.
