The world’s largest cryptocurrency Bitcoin dropped 17.3% last month — its worst April performance since 2013, according to Coinglass.

Bitcoin trading volumes have dwindled in recent months as the prospect of higher interest rates tempts some savers away from cryptocurrencies.

 

Despite the weekend’s turbulence, BTC is pretty flat on a seven-day timeframe — down by just 0.8%.

 

The same can’t be said for altcoins, with many nursing double-digit losses over the past week.

 

Polygon, Avalanche and Polkadot all plunged over 15% — while Uniswap, The Sandbox and Decentraland fell more than 20%.
