Strategy disclosed that it purchased 4,603 BTC between August 24 and 30 at an average price of $80,318, for a total investment of approximately $369.7 million. The company now holds 845,050 BTC at an aggregate cost of around $63.73 billion and an average purchase price of $75,412.
2. Strive Buys Another 1,800 BTC, Becomes Fifth-Largest Public Bitcoin Treasury
After adding another 1,800 BTC, Strive further expanded its holdings and moved into fifth place among publicly listed corporate Bitcoin treasuries worldwide. TD Cowen expects the company’s BTC holdings could rise to approximately 27,156 by the end of 2026.
3. BitMine Adds 53,501 ETH in One Week, Holdings Rise to 5.9 Million
BitMine Immersion Technologies added 53,501 ETH over the past week, bringing total holdings to 5,901,112 ETH. At a price of $2,511, the position is worth around $14.8 billion and represents approximately 4.9% of Ethereum’s circulating supply, keeping BitMine the world’s largest corporate holder of ETH.
4. Solana “Double Disinflation” Proposal Passes, Doubling Annual Inflation Reduction Rate
Solana governance proposal SGP-0002 passed with 67.001% support, slightly above the required 66.67% threshold. The proposal increases the annual inflation reduction rate from 15% to 30%, meaning the pace at which new SOL issuance declines will accelerate significantly.
5. Solana Network Fees Reach Record Levels as On-Chain Activity Accelerates
Solana’s seven-day average network fees recently climbed to around 9,200 SOL near August 27, up roughly 80% from three months earlier. Non-vote transaction activity also reached a record high. Rising network usage and changes to the inflation mechanism have become two of the most important recent developments in the Solana ecosystem.
6. US Spot Solana ETFs See Record $153 Million Weekly Net Inflows
For the week ended August 31, US spot Solana ETFs recorded approximately $153 million in combined net inflows, their strongest weekly performance since launching in October 2025. Total assets under management across the nine products rose to around $1.49 billion.
7. Russia’s New Crypto Regulations Take Effect as Sberbank Sees $46.4 Billion in First-Year Trading
Russia’s new crypto-asset regulatory framework took effect on September 1. Sberbank, the country’s largest bank, expects trading volume on regulated domestic crypto exchanges could reach 4 trillion rubles, or approximately $46.4 billion, in the first year under the new framework.
8. Crypto Token Buybacks Approach Record $640 Million in 2026
Financial Times data showed that crypto projects have spent nearly $640 million buying back their own tokens so far in 2026, surpassing the $545 million spent during all of 2025. Hyperliquid and pump.fun account for nearly 90% of the total, as token buybacks become an increasingly common mechanism for distributing value.
9. US 10-Year Treasury Yield Breaks Above 4.75%, Highest Since January 2025
The US 10-year Treasury yield rose as high as 4.768% overnight, its highest level since January 15, 2025, before holding near 4.75%. Recovering oil prices, expectations for further Fed rate hikes and fiscal pressure have combined to trigger renewed selling across global bond markets.
10. Warsh Tells G20 Global Economy Is Shifting from “Savings Glut” to “Investment Surge”
Warsh told G20 finance ministers and central bank governors that the long-standing global “savings glut” is being replaced by a new wave of investment. AI and infrastructure spending could raise potential growth and productivity, but would also imply stronger demand for capital and potentially higher long-term interest rates.
11. Brent Crude Breaks Above $91 as Renewed US-Iran Fighting Raises Risk Premium
Brent crude rose to $91.05 per barrel in early Asian trading, while WTI climbed to $86.59. The US previously struck facilities on Iran’s Larak Island, after which Iran attacked a US military base in Jordan. President Trump then warned of further potential strikes, prompting energy markets to price in renewed escalation risks.
12. Nasdaq Still Gains 3.9% in August as Dow Extends Winning Streak to Five Months
Despite weakness on the final trading day of August, US equities still posted monthly gains. The Nasdaq rose 3.9% in August as the AI trade continued to provide support, while the Dow recorded its fifth consecutive monthly advance. The MSCI global equity index gained approximately 2.6% for the month.
13. Yen Hovers Near 160 as Markets Price 73% Chance of BOJ September Hike
The dollar was last trading around 159.81 yen after briefly moving above 160 in each of the previous two sessions. US Treasury Secretary Bessent said he believes the Japanese government and Bank of Japan will take steps that encourage a stronger yen. Markets currently price around a 73% chance of a BOJ rate hike in September.
14. South Korea Semiconductor Exports Surge 209% Year-on-Year to $46.65 Billion
South Korean trade data showed semiconductor exports jumping 209% year-on-year in August to $46.65 billion. Continued expansion in AI infrastructure capital spending by hyperscalers including Google and Amazon is keeping demand for memory and advanced chips elevated.
