Introducing coin-margined futures
10/25/2022
We are excited to announce that we have added coin-margined futures to our list of product offerings. Here are the details of the new listings:
Users can find more details on the futures contract specifications here.
What are coin-margined futures?
Coin-margined futures are a type of futures, allowing users to use Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), or other cryptocurrencies as the base cryptocurrency and USD as the quote currency to show the trade volume in a trade. Margin and profit/loss are quoted in the base currencies mentioned above.
Therefore, if a user wants to trade coin-margined futures such as BTCUSD or ETHUSD, the user must hold BTC or ETH in their BTCC accounts.
Where to find coin-margined futures on our platform
Here’s where you can find our coin-margined futures on our web and app:

What are the features of coin-margined futures?
Different from USDT-margined futures, coin-margined futures are quoted and settled in cryptocurrencies. For example, when you trade BTCUSD Quarterly, everything, including margin and profit and loss, will be calculated in BTC. In other words, coin-margined futures allow you to trade while holding BTC.
There are also no funding fees incurred when trading coin-margined quarterly futures, which means that trading fees can be reduced.
You can find all the information at the top of the page of each coin-margin futures contract.
How can I trade coin-margined futures?
Users can deposit BTC, ETH, or XRP, or they can convert USDT to the cryptocurrencies mentioned. For example, you have USDT in your BTCC account and would like to trade ETHUSD Quarterly. You will need to have ETH in your BTCC account.
Our web and app platforms offer a crypto conversion feature to allow you to convert between USDT and other cryptocurrencies conveniently.
For crypto conversion fees, please refer to this page.
How to fund your account with BTC, ETH, and XRP
If you don’t have any crypto, there are two ways to get BTC, ETH, and XRP on BTCC:
- Deposit—Transfer crypto to BTCC from other exchanges/wallets.
- Buy Crypto—Buy crypto with a debit/credit card. See video guide

Risk warning: Digital asset trading is an emerging industry with bright prospects, but it also comes with huge risks as it is a new market. The risk is especially high in leveraged trading since leverage magnifies profits and amplifies risks at the same time. Please make sure you have a thorough understanding of the industry, the leveraged trading models, and the rules of trading before opening a position. Additionally, we strongly recommend that you identify your risk tolerance and only accept the risks you are willing to take. All trading involves risks, so you must be cautious when entering the market.
