Were reboot vans always in Fortnite?

Excuse me, I'm a bit of a Fortnite fanatic and I've been wondering about something. Were reboot vans always a part of the game? I remember playing the game back in the early days and I don't recall seeing them then. Did they get added in a later update, or have I just somehow missed them all this time? It seems like such a useful feature, I'm just curious about its history in the game.
