Can tight psoas cause tight glutes?

Could it be possible that a tightened psoas muscle could lead to tightness in the gluteal muscles as well? Is there a connection between the two, or is this merely a coincidence? If so, what kind of mechanisms might be at play here, and what can be done to alleviate the tension in both muscles? Is stretching the psoas a viable solution, or are there other methods that might be more effective?
