XRP at $1.08, $1.10 resistance holds firm: Warning signs flash for a potential 10% correction as bulls struggle
XRP is flashing warning signs of a potential 10% correction as persistent resistance near the $1.09 to $1.10 range continues to stymie bullish recovery attempts throughout July. The digital asset now teeters at a critical juncture, trading at $1.08 after a series of failed breakouts that have left momentum stalled following June's sharp decline. While the coin has stabilized above key support levels, volume and momentum metrics signal deepening market hesitancy, suggesting the path forward remains fraught with uncertainty for bulls. Key support levels at $0.98 and $1.02 are now in focus as traders brace for the next major move.
XRP tests major technical resistance
Recent trading saw XRP struggle to move above the convergence of the 50-day and 100-day moving averages, both of which have formed a formidable resistance zone for the token. Prices are currently hovering near $1.08, with buyers unable to sustain a breakout attempt from an ascending triangle pattern. Instead, the asset has slipped back below its previous breakout area, consolidating just under critical resistance.
The failed breakout effort and minimal subsequent decline indicate that sellers remain active whenever the price approaches dynamic resistance lines. So far, overall momentum has not shifted in favor of buyers, leaving the longer-term technical picture unchanged.
Technical indicators show the 200-day moving average trending higher, with the level now standing at roughly $1.21. This configuration suggests that bulls face considerable challenges before the outlook can improve over the long term.
Volume and momentum signal market hesitancy
Trading volumes have stayed muted throughout the latest recovery attempts. Sustained increases in participation are generally necessary for substantial breakouts, yet the current quiet market implies that conviction is still lacking among both buyers and sellers.
Repeated advances toward the $1.10 mark have been turned back in the absence of stronger buying volume. Many traders are now watching closely for evidence of renewed momentum. The Relative Strength Index (RSI), which measures market momentum, currently stands near 46, slightly below the neutral 50 mark, indicating a mild bearish tilt but no extreme conditions.
XRP is consolidating just below the 50-day and 100-day moving averages, while volume remains subdued and momentum indicators reveal a market searching for direction.
Although selling pressure has eased since the sharp June drop, buyers have not displayed the conviction required for a sustained upward move. The absence of overbought signals does, however, offer scope for a potential rebound if conditions shift.
Key levels to watch for XRP
Technical analysts point to a strong daily close above the $1.10 resistance zone as a prerequisite for a more optimistic scenario. Should XRP regain the 50-day and 100-day moving averages on convincing volume, attention would likely turn toward the next major resistance found near the 200-day moving average at $1.21.
On the downside, the $1.05 to $1.06 area serves as immediate support. Further declines below this band could open the door for another test of the $1.00 psychological level. With XRP now trading between significant support and resistance zones, traders are watching closely to see if the coin can break from its current range and establish a clear directional trend.
