Tron Dominates Stablecoin Market: Mints $1 Billion USDT, Controls Over 50% Supply
Tron just flexed its muscles in the stablecoin arena—printing a fresh $1 billion USDT and seizing majority control of the supply. Game on.
How’d they pull it off? By becoming the go-to chain for institutional stablecoin moves while Ethereum gas fees keep traders sweating. The network now holds over half of all USDT in circulation—a staggering power grab in the digital dollar wars.
Market watchers are split: bulls see this as proof of Tron’s scaling prowess, while skeptics whisper about centralization risks. Meanwhile, traditional bankers still can’t decide if stablecoins are ‘the future’ or ‘that crypto nonsense’—classic finance whiplash.
One thing’s clear: when you mint a billion dollars before breakfast, you’re not playing by Wall Street’s rulebook.

Tether has minted around 23 billion USDT on Tron in 2025 alone out of which more than 8 billion USDT has been minted since June 1 2025.. The steady rise in new USDT on the Trom network highlights how much users rely on Tron for fast and cheap stablecoin transactions.
In total, Tron network now holds 82.6 billion USDT out of the total 164.5 billion USDT in circulation as of today. This makes it the leading network for USDT followed by ethereum which holds around 79.8 billion USDT. This shows a clear shift in where most stablecoin activity is happening as many users now choose Tron over Ethereum because of its low fees and faster speed.
“USDT on tron has become the preferred choice for millions of users around the world because it is fast, stable, and accessible,” said Justin Sun, founder of Tron, “The focus remains on delivering real world utility and building strong network effects that make TRON the leading platform for stablecoin transactions.”
Tron now handles record high network activity. In one week, it processed over 60 million transactions, making it the third busiest blockchain after solana and Base. This rise is linked to more people using USDT on Tron, given its low-fee and high-speed transaction features.
