Ethena launches Pay app, Avalanche settlement, tiered interest rates up to 6%

Ethena has launched the beta version of the Ethena Pay app, a self-custodied iOS payment application that uses Avalanche as the sole settlement layer, providing a direct channel for USDe to enter consumer payments. The initial early access list includes 400 users and will expand weekly in September as the product exits the beta phase. The app supports 49 countries across Latin America, the Caribbean, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Oceania, while regions like the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, and Canada are marked for later release.Ethena Pay combines self-custodied wallets with transfers, fiat currency entry, and Visa cards. Ethena Pay Ltd. only provides software and does not offer banking or custodial services; wallet keys are retained on the user's device, and the company cannot recover them. The card is issued by the Third National, chartered in Puerto Rico, and managed by Rain, available only to non-U.S. users. Ava Labs states that the digital dollar balance in the app is held in USDe, with Avalanche handling transfers, payments, and settlements behind the interface. The advertised maximum annual interest rate of 6% for Ethena Pay consists of the base rate for USDe plus the Daily Boost provided by Ethena Pay, and is not an additional 6% on top of the base rate. Standard users can receive a total interest rate of up to 5%, capped at $5,000; Pro users receive 6%, capped at $15,000; VIP users receive 6%, capped at $50,000. Cashback is up to 5%, paid in AVAX.

Fake Claude Desktop App Spreads RevStealer, Targeting Over 50 Crypto Wallets

Odaily News: Fake Claude desktop apps are being used to spread the Windows malware RevStealer, which can steal crypto assets, passwords, and browser data, and targets over 50 crypto wallets.

Cybersecurity firm Morphisec says RevStealer has previously been distributed via GitHub repositories and gaming cheat-themed websites; this time it is also disguised as a "Claude Opus 5 Free Desktop" project, impersonating AI developer Anthropic and promising free access to Claude.

The malware searches browser databases, cookies, password manager records, VPN and remote access settings, chat data, screenshots, and specific documents, and checks device memory, processor core count, hostname, username, and graphics hardware.

RevStealer monitors for debugging delays common in malware analysis environments. If anomalies are detected, the malware does not continue the infection process; after passing checks, its payload is decrypted, stored under a random name, and executed covertly. Previously, Russian cybersecurity firm Kaspersky discovered the malware framework OkoBot targeting crypto investors, which can steal wallet files, browser data, and user credentials. (Cointelegraph)

Injective: No On-Chain Attack, INJ and User Funds Safe During Upgrade

Odaily News: Injective officially stated that an accelerated network upgrade took longer than expected yesterday, but throughout the process, the Injective blockchain and INJ assets remained secure. The protocol and consensus mechanism were not compromised, and user and staked funds were unaffected.

The upgrade was triggered by the exploitation of binary options markets in a few ecosystem applications. The scope of the attack was limited to the affected applications and did not touch the Injective chain itself. During the upgrade, some validators were temporarily suspended for not completing the upgrade in time, causing a temporary decrease in network staking, and some exchanges also paused deposits and withdrawals to update nodes.

Injective stated that the attack vector has been fixed, and stricter constraints, real-time monitoring, and security protection mechanisms will be introduced in the future.

Hyperliquid's block trading layer Silhouette launched its Request for Quote (RFQ) trading system on the mainnet on Tuesday, initially supporting tokenized stocks from Payward's tokenized stock framework xStocks. Silhouette stated that the system allows traders to initiate quote requests for any supported xStock and receive competitive quotes from connected market makers, with winning trades able to settle on-chain at any time and in any size. The RFQ system enables supported xStocks to trade without a dedicated order book, and tokens that generate sufficient trading activity can subsequently be upgraded to an independent HyperCore market.
