Odaily News: Bitfinex Securities, the tokenized investment platform of crypto exchange Bitfinex, has listed five tokenized notes, providing eligible investors with economic exposure to bitcoin treasury companies such as Strategy, Metaplanet, H100 Group, and Capital B. The platform has also listed Strategy's floating-rate perpetual preferred stock, STRC.

The notes are issued through the Luxembourg ORO (II) fund, managed by SICOS Securities, with underlying securities held in custody by regulated financial institutions, but they do not grant investors direct ownership of shares in the corresponding companies. The products allow fractional investments starting from approximately $1 and support trading in USD, USDT, and bitcoin, and are only available to eligible non-U.S. investors.

After completing a $50 million tokenized fundraising for metals company Alkemya in August this year, the platform's listed assets have exceeded $500 million. (Cointelegraph)

Strategy invests $635 million to repurchase STRC perpetual preferred stock

Bitcoin holding company Strategy has spent a total of $635.2 million to repurchase its STRC perpetual preferred shares, with the latest transaction amounting to $151.8 million at an average price of $97.48. Despite the ongoing expansion of the repurchase scale, STRC is currently priced at $97.34, below its par value of $100. The company's previously launched $1 billion repurchase authorization has pushed STRC from a low of about $71 to around $97.Part of the pressure on STRC comes from competition with Strive's ASST perpetual preferred shares. ASST offers a 13% annual dividend paid daily, while STRC has a dividend yield of 12%, paid bi-monthly. ASST has maintained a price close to its par value of $100 for over a week, allowing Strive to issue additional shares through at-the-market (ATM) offerings, with the proceeds used to purchase 1,800 bitcoins over the past week. The performance of the common stocks of both companies has also diverged, with ASST rising 60% this year, while MSTR has fallen 15%. Additionally, Strategy purchased bitcoin for the first time in two months, buying 4,603 bitcoins last week at an average price of about $80,000, increasing its total holdings to 845,050 bitcoins (approximately $65.9 billion).

Strategy's Bitcoin Buyback Unlikely to Alter Long-Term Trend; BTC Faces Pressure Above $80K

Odaily News: Greeks.live posted on X that on September 1, if Strategy resumes buying Bitcoin, it will only provide short-term stimulus and is unlikely to change the long-term trend. After achieving floating profits, Strategy has more room to increase its holdings, but over a longer cycle, Bitcoin ETFs are still experiencing net outflows, making it difficult for Bitcoin to firmly hold above $80,000, with significant market selling pressure. Currently, no single participant in the Bitcoin market can manipulate or accurately predict the trend. On the macro front, the Federal Reserve's hawkish remarks and the escalation of the US-Iran conflict are further testing investor sentiment.

Additionally, Bitcoin's short-term volatility has declined rapidly, and a single bullish candlestick is insufficient to sustain a bull market. If it can rise back above $85,000 after a slight pullback, the market structure may improve; otherwise, arbitrageurs and sellers could bring significant selling pressure. Gamma exposure (GEX) is building up at the end of the month, and the market still needs further upward momentum to continue the trend.

Tom Lee: Bitcoin Could Still Reach $150K as Institutions Position for Q4

Odaily News: Tom Lee said on CNBC that Bitcoin could still rise to six figures due to the relatively small number of cryptocurrency holders; if the Fed raises interest rates but long-term yields fall, it could actually constitute monetary easing; he believes the recent cryptocurrency market rally is the first phase of an uptrend, and trading volumes in cryptocurrency stocks indicate that institutional investors are positioning for the fourth quarter.

Tom Lee: This is currently just the first wave of the upward trend, and institutions are betting on a big market in the fourth quarter

Tom Lee stated during his appearance on CNBC: "I believe that there are actually very few people who truly hold cryptocurrencies. Because of this, I think Bitcoin can easily break through six figures (like over $100,000), but it may also be affected by interest rate hikes. As for how cryptocurrencies will perform, I think this will be a good test, but we have already seen long-term yields (interest rates) rising. So, if we see the Federal Reserve raising interest rates while long-term yields actually decline, that would essentially mean monetary easing. Therefore, the key may be how long-term yields respond to the Federal Reserve's interest rate hikes."He also added: "I think this is just the first wave of the rise because this round of cryptocurrency market has caught many people off guard. Well, I believe institutional investors are buying stocks related to cryptocurrencies, and this is very obvious—trading volume has surged significantly, which signals that they are betting on a big market in the fourth quarter. I think $150,000 is still possible, well, it's actually not that far from now."

Analyst: Bitcoin Long-Term Holders' 30-Day Distribution Rises to 281,900 BTC, Up 61.5% Since Aug. 18

Odaily News: Axel Adler Jr. said on X that from Aug. 18 to Aug. 28, the 30-day cumulative distribution by Bitcoin long-term holders rose from 174,500 BTC to 281,900 BTC, reaching the highest level since 2026 on Aug. 28. This metric accelerated during the rebound following a short squeeze in Bitcoin. During the same period, the long-term holder MVRV rose from 1.31 on Aug. 18 to 1.64 on Aug. 27, and was 1.60 on Aug. 31, indicating that the market value of Bitcoin held by long-term holders is about 60% higher than the average realized value.

Analysis: The allocation of Bitcoin long-term holders has risen to 281,900 coins, an increase of 61.5% compared to August 18

CryptoQuant analyst Axel Adler Jr stated that from August 18 to 28, the 30-day cumulative distribution of Bitcoin long-term holders (LTH) increased from 174,500 to 281,900, a rise of 61.5%, reaching the highest level since 2026 on August 28. This metric accelerated significantly during the rapid rebound after the short-term squeeze in Bitcoin, indicating that long-term holders are taking profits as prices rise.Meanwhile, the LTH MVRV rose from 1.31 on August 18 to 1.64 on August 27, remaining at a level of 1.6 on August 31, which means that the market value of Bitcoin held by long-term holders is approximately 60% higher than their average realized value. This suggests that despite the increase in distribution activity, long-term holders still possess significant unrealized profits. Axel believes that the price rebound after the short-term squeeze has simultaneously elevated the profit levels of long-term holders and the speed of token distribution, creating conditions for further profit-taking. If Bitcoin prices remain stable, long-term holders may continue to release supply, adding extra selling pressure to the market. The current key issue for the market is whether the high-level distribution by long-term holders will continue and whether new buying can absorb this additional supply; otherwise, the market may face price pressure again.
